Actress Candice Accola stared in two of the Lyme disease PSAs we made in May. She was one of the main forces behind the project. She rallied her celebrity friends to join her in the project and our estimated two PSAs expanded into 24!
Candice also became a spokesperson for the Turn the Corner Foundation. She is passionate about Lyme not because she has it but because she has seen one of her closest friends become completely disabled by the disease. Read the post written by Candice Accola about her friend Teri Raser – Click Here
Currently a gift is being put together for Candice by Maddie Coe of Candice Accola Web. Because of Candice’s involvement and commitment to spreading Lyme disease awareness, Maddie is going to dedicate a section of the fan book to Lyme disease.

I was so honored to be able to participate and help with this cause earlier this year. I’m so happy I was able to help and I thank you as well as Candice for doing such an amazing job at spreading awareness and making people more aware of Lyme disease because honestly before I got involved with helping I had no clue about Lyme even existing and I’m happy that you are all here doing your best to educate people about this. Thank you.

Candice, I can’t thank you enough for your loyalty to Teri and for being one of very few people who have stood by her through this indescribable nightmare. Thank you for taking it a big step further in spreading awareness and being a voice for Teri and for the thousands and thousands of other people suffering from this horrific disease. You are an angel to our family and to the entire Lyme community. God bless you always! Love you!

Candice,
When I saw your lyme PSAs, I was so inspired. It is such a great gesture on your part to speak out on the behalf of us who have been so overlooked and mistreated. You are not only a very talented young woman, but you are also very caring and compassionate. It is not only admirable to speak out to educate others about lyme, but it is even more admirable that you have been such a pillar of strength for your friend, Teri. Most friends and even family give up on us, or get tired of the “whining,” but you have shown so many of us what true love of your friends really is.
I have been a fan of “The Vampire Diaries” from day one, and your PSAs have only cemented my fan status! Keep up the good work…I know you will go far in life, and in the acting business. You truly are a special young woman and I commend you for your bravery in speaking out about lyme, and I admire your compassion for those of us who simply aren’t heard.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You truly inspire me!

Candice..I thanked you before on your blog I believe but I would also like say thank you once again. Not only have you given us a voice, but you seem so genuine and really driven to make a difference in the way lyme is perceived. This gives many of us who suffer in vain subsequent of lyme, hope at the end of the day. It really touches a person when you know your are amongst people who genuinely care. So thanks for being you and letting your integrity guide you when so many others turn their backs. It takes a courageous person to speak up about such a controversial subject. Words can’t express what this has meant to the lyme community as a whole =)

Thank you so much Candice for talking about Lyme disease. It may not be as “trendy” as other diseases that actors and celebrities support – but it is so important! I don’t have Lyme but so many of my family members and close friends do. I had no idea how clueless I was about Lyme until my friends educated me about it. The public needs to know. Thanks so much!

Thank you so much Candice. I’m sure I speak for many others when I say words cannot begin to express how much those of us who are suffering with chronic late stage lyme disease appreciate all you are doing to bring awareness to this horrific, very misunderstood disease.
Your friend Teri is lucky to have you as her friend and we are very fortunate to have you as our spokesperson.
Unfortunately, when it comes to LD most either chose to ignore how much we are suffering, do not even try to understand how painful and relentless this disease can be or they simply don’t stick around.
Both you and Teri will remain in my prayers.
